On 30 June, I hopped on the direct flight to Laos. Since I have never been to this country, I feel extremely excited.
It only took us 2 hours to get to Laos from Hong Kong. The corridor of the plane was quite narrow, which can be uncomfortable for passengers with larger body size. Often you can hear the passengers coughing all the time. Not a nice place to rest.
Despite that, there was an interesting event. A tourist guide was collecting the tourist passport. When my companion heard this news, he soon recognised this tourism was a scam sugar coated in the name of tourism. Even though the Thai government had taken action to combat the criminals that kidnap people to the KK park, many Chinese are still living under the shadow of this tragedy. I shared this news with my father, who explained that the tourist guide did this for the benefits of the tourism. Since someone people may lost their passport during the flight, this method would ensure everyone wouldl be able to get their visa on time.
I thought the same until I heard a sentence from the tourist guide.
“Keep your vegan cha siu bao to yourself! Tonight you guys won’t have any food to eat!” Wow, no food to eat at night. Such a generous service provider.
After landing in Laos, my companions and I proceeded to the broader and submitted our visa applications. The whole process lasted for more than one hour. Just like the opinion mentioned by the minister of the tourism in Laos, Laos still lacks enough resources and systems for more efficient broader check. If they want to boost their tourism economy, simplification of the process is a must. Also, there was something silly about the process. Before departure, we had to fill in a form that included our personal information, but among three of us, I was the only one that forgot to complete this task. Ironically , even though I didn’t fulfil its requirement and dropped my zip file on the floor, I was the only that didn’t have to do extra examination to prove my identity. (Maybe it’s because I look too smart/ stupid enough not to be a scammer lol)

In the hotel, I rested for a while and waited for my companion in Royal Kitchen. We ate a lot of food. They were very delicious. The seafood hotpot blended the sourness of the vegetables together, pushing the freshness of the dish on another level. The Lao’s style grilled pork preserved the grease of the pork and its crispiness. However, I overestimated my tolerance towards spicy food. As I took bites after bites, my sense of taste gradually disappeared. Unconscious of the seriousness of the situation, I went on wolfing down the meat in my bowl. Suddenly, there was an acute pain transmitted from my right neck. Soon the burn spread to my head, until I found myself on the verge of fainting. I tried to quench the fire in my body with water, but my effort was in vain. My sanity was fading away, but the cold air emitted from the air conditioner kept me awake. This was disassociation.

Back in the hotel, the female staff member reminded me that it can be dangerous to walk alone at night. Then I went to the gym room in urbanite. When I saw its exterior, I was disappointed by its equipments and design.
I took her advice and went to sleep at 9: 30pm. The next day I woke up at 4: 35am.
